Dr. Renato Geralde was born in the Philippines in 1969. In that same year he and his family immigrated to the United States. The Geralde family lived in many places including Jersey City, Chicago, and Houston. They eventually settled in the Southern California area in 1986. Dr. Geralde obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences at the University of California at Irvine (UCI). In 1992 he was commissioned as a 2LT in the US Army reserves as he enrolled in medical school. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) medical degree from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine(CCOM) in 1996. Dr. Geralde then entered into active duty by going to Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii to complete his Family Medicine Internship and Residency.
Dr. Geralde’s accomplishments, awards, and accolades are many. He graduated on the Dean’s list from UCI and with Honors at CCOM. He has completed the Officer’s Basic Course, Combat Casualty Care Course, Brigade Surgeon’s Course, Aerospace Medicine Primary Course, Commanders Course, and the Survival-Escape-Rescue & Evade Course. He has served as the Academic Chief Resident of his residency training program. He is also board certified and a member of the American Board of Family Medicine, the Uniformed Services of Family Practice, and the American Medical Association.
In addition to serving in Hawaii, Dr. Geralde’s military career has included two assignments in Germany. He was first stationed in Schweinfurt Health Clinic where he served as the Medical Director. He then became the Commander of the Giebelstadt Health Clinic. Dr. Geralde left active duty in 2002 but served in the U.S. Air Force as a flight surgeon at Lackland AFB. He has received the Army Achievement Medal, Army Meritorious Service Medal, and the Air Force Achievement Medal.
Having served in the military, Dr. Geralde realizes the important influence that physical fitness has on a person’s mental and physical health. He strives to assist families to achieve and maintain optimal health, growth, and development. Dr. Geralde accomplishes this goal by taking an integrative approach that encompasses the patient, the patient’s illness, and the patient’s overall physical and mental health.
Dr. Geralde opened North Hills Family Medicine in Stone Oak in 2005, Westover Hills in 2011, and Schertz in 2014.
